Atletico Madrid vs Bayern Munich: Atletico thrashes out Bayern, Reaches Champions League Final

Atletico Madrid have reached their second Champions League final in last thee years as they thrashed out Bayern Munich on away goals despite losing Semi-Final second leg by 2-1 at the Alliana Arena.

Baryen had levelled their first leg deficit through Xabi Alonso in the first half and both the teams had penalty saved, but Antoine Griezmann's goal shortly after the break proved decisive as Atletico hung on to win with a 2-2 aggregate score.

Atletico's stalwart defence limited scoring chances in the early stages with Arturo Vidal only trying his luck from distance.

Baryen nearly found a way in the 20th minute when Muller got on the end of the long pass and laid it off for an on-rushing Lewandowski but Jan Oblak saved from point blank range.

The breakthrough came in 30th minute after Augusto Fernandez fouled David Alaba just outside the block and Alonso scored from a free kick.

As Atletico raced out on the counter attack, Antoine Griezmann headed the ball down to Fernendo Torres, who played the Frenchman through to run in free on goal  and beat Neuer at his near post.

The away goal meant Bayern needed to score twice to go through and the host maintained nearly all the possessions from that point forward.

Atletico heald out until 74th minute when Vidal headed  Alaba's cross back across goal for Lewandowski to node in from close range.
