Will Smith, Ex Saints Player Shot Dead, Suspect Arrested

A man was arrested on Sunday in shooting the former New Orleans Saints player Will Smith, which ended in his death.

Will Smith helped his team to win Super Bowled XLIV, its only championship.

Smith was shot after he was involved in traffic collision with a Hummer in New Orleans Lower Garden District on Saturday night, the police said.

"The driver of Hummer and Smith exchanged some words at which the driver of the Hummer produced a handgun and shot Smith, multiple times," the Police said.

Smith's wife was also shot twice and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Cardell Hayes, 28 was arrested after the shooting and was charged with second degree murder, he police said. Police said that the gun has been recovered from the scene.
