Bangladesh whitewash the series against Pakistan


Openning batsman Soumya Sarkar's maiden ODI century helped Bangladesh to sweep the series against Pakistan by 3-0 at Sher-e-Bangla stadium,Dhaka.

The 22years old Sarkar scored unbeaten 127 run off 110 balls as he helped his team to win and sweep the series against Pakistan.

The Bangladesh openers made a brilliant 145 runs stand for the first wicket.But after scoring a good knock of 64 run,Tamim Iqbal got out.

It was first time in this series that he was not able to score century.In the first two matches in the series Tamim made centuries.

Bangladesh reached the target of 251 with 40 overs.

Earlier in the match Pakistan were all out on 250.Captain Azhar Ali made century.

But his century was not able to make any difference as Bangladesh won the match.

At one stage Pakistan were 203-2 in 39 because of Azhar Ali's century but they were not able to capitalize on that good score and the lost 8 wickets of only 47 runs.

Shakib Al Hasan, Mortaza, Arafat Sunny and Rubel Hossain took two wickets each.While Nasir Hossain took one wicket.
It was first witewash by Bangladesh against any Asian test playing nation.

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mottaza said 'The way the boys are playing it is very pleasing for me and the team as well.The boys are performing every day which is good.
'We have got the confidence and we delivered in the middle. Our main focus will be the T20 day
after and then the Test match' he said.
