UTS mobile app launched by Indian Railways for unreserved tickets

On 22rd April 2015,Indian Railways launched UTS mobile application for unreserved tickets.

On Tuesday, Railway Ministry made an announcement that "they are launching a mobile based paperless unreserved ticketing app tomorrow."

This application is developed to eliminate the need of printing for unreserved tickets.

UTS app is developed by Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) and is now available on the Google Play store.

This mobile app can now be used to obtain tickets in unreserved categories  as railway board recently took initiative of paperless ticketing.

Using this app,a person can reserve tickets and need not to take print-out for the same and can board the train having the ticket secured on his mobile phone.

Using this app,a person can save his time by reserving his ticket on mobile and need not to stand in line at the window.

Payment of the ticket is done through the Railway Wallet feature in the app.The passenger will have to use the ticket within an hour of booking the ticket.
This app was launched on pilot basis in New Delhi and later it will be extended to Mumbai suburban sector.
