4 Indian nurses among 16 shot dead in Yemen gun attack

4 Indian nurses were among 16 people who were killed in a terror attack on Friday when gunmen opened fire at the old care home in Yemen.

According to the reports, four gunmen stormed a care home in Aden's Shekh Othman district, killing a guard and randomly shooting at the residents.

Government on Friday, said it was trying to ascertain the reports of at least four Indian nurses being gunned down in Yemen.

"We have seen the reports and are trying to ascertain the details," External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said.

According to the officials," two of the four gunmen asked the guard to open the gate saying they want to visit their mothers.

On entering, they shot the gatekeeper and opened fire.

The reports from Yemen said, the terrorists separated the nun from the others and shot them. Later they handcuffed the elders people and shot them.

The motive of the gunmen was not immediately known. They fled after the attack, the officials said.

the bodies of the killed were transferred to a clinic supported by the Medical group Medecins Sans Frontieres, medical sources ssaid.
