Asia Cup: Kohli's Fifty Blasts India Into The Finals





Three wins in a row made India to reach into the Final's of  the 2016 Asia Cup Twenty20, their third victory coming over Sri Lanka at the Shere Bngla Stadium, in Mirpur on Tuesday.

Things mostly went to India's way from the start of the match to the finish, with M.S. Dhoni's decision to field with bowlers restricted Sri Lanka to 138 and India chased down the total in 19.2  overs for the loss of 5 wickets.

India's chase was not either blemish as the openers were dismissed by  Kulasekara inside four overs, but a 57 runs stand betwen Kohli(56 off 47) and Raina(25 Off 26) for third wicket  to put India back on track. After Raina got out, Yuvraj Singh made quick fire knock of 35 from 16 balls and made a decent partnership of 51 runs.

Earlier in the match, the bowlers did a great job to restrict Sri Lanka to 134 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Ashish Nehra and Jasprit Bumrah once again impressed by taking the early wickets.

Pandya and Ashwin took 2 wickets each. Both of them has done a decent job by taking two wickets each. Pandya took his first wicket in his very first over of his spell by dismissing Chandimal for four.

Kulasekara comming off a handy 13 runs at the last, had Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma behind the stumps in his very first two over.

Brief Score: India 145/5 in 19.2 overs (Virat kohli 56*, Yuvraj Singh 35) beat Sri Lanka 138/9  in 20 overs (Kapugedera 30, Pandya 2/26) by five wickets.
