Asia Cup T20: Bangladesh beat Pakistan in a thriller to meet India in finals






Soumya Sarkar hit a decent run-a-ball 48 runs to help Bangladesh stun Pakistan in the Asia Cup encounter on Wednesday.

Bangladesh rode on some brilliant performances by Soumya Sarkar and Al-Amin Hossain to stun Pakistan in a thriller and they have now reached the finals of 2016 Asia Cup.

The hosts made a solid start to their chase of 130 runs. Sarkar played a brilliant and matured  knock of 48 from 48 balls. Sabbir Rehman(14) and Mushfiqur Rahim(12) gave him much support in the middle overs.

However, the in-form pacer Mohammad Aamir took wickets of Sarkar and Shakib Al Hasan(8) to rekindle Pakistan's hope.

Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza though hit two crucial boundries off Aamir in 18th over too make things easy for Bangladesh.

Earlier Pakistan recovered from 28/4 to129-7.

Sarfraz Khan played a quick knock of unbeaten 58 runs. He along with Malik(40) added 70 runs partnership for the fifth wicket.

Electing to bat first, Pakistan were 34-4 after 10 overs, before the duo counterattacked to give a decent total to defend.

Al-Amin claimed 3-25 and caused Pakistan in trouble initially, along with his new-ball partner Taskin Ahmed 1-14.
