Barcelona clinch victory over Atletico Madrid by 1-0 to claim their 23rd La Liga title

FC Barcelona defeated Atletico Madrid by 1-0 to win their 23rd overall La Liga title on sunday.It was their 5th title in 7 years.

World famous Argentine soccer Lionel Messi helped Barcelona to clinch victory over
Atletico. Messi scored the decisive goal in the 65th minute of the match with the superb combination with Pedro Rodriguze and assuring a win for his team.

On the other hand, despite a win over Espanyol by 4-1 Real Madrid were not able to win the title . Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick that helped his team to a win over Espanyol in Estadi Cornella-El Prat.

Real Madrid will now be  the runner-up of the La Liga after their win while the third position will be secured by Atletico who were the winners of la liga  last year.

The team coached by Luis Enrique will now face Juventus in the Champions League final in Berlin a week later.Also they will face Athletic Bilbao in the finals of Copa De Rey at Camp Nou on 30th May.

On the final day of La Liga if Atletico scored 1 point then they will secure their spot in  group stage of next season of the Champions League.
