Mumbai Indians reach the finals of IPL8 by beating Chennai Super Kings by 25 runs

Mumbai Indians becomes the first team to reach the finals of IPL8 by beating Chennai Super Kings by 25 runs.

CSK could only managed to score 162/10 in reply to 187/6 of Mumbai Indians.

CSK started with a disasters start as the opener Dwayne Smith got out for a duck on Maling's ball in the very first over of the innings of CSK.

After that M Hussey and du Plessis got the partnership of 46 runs.But then Hussey got out by edging the ball to the keeper Parthiv Patel.He got out on the score of 16(11).

du Plessis played a good innings of 45 (34) but he got out in the  14th over. Vinay kumar took a good running catch to dissmis du Plessis on the delivery by Suchith.Other than du Plessis no other batsman was able to score big innings that lead to a loss to CSK in the quarter finals.

Suresh Raina aslo scored 25(20) but he was not able to turn the start into big innings.

The 11th over bowled by Harbhajan Singh became the turning point of the match as he took 2 wickets in it.First wicket was of Raina and in the very next ball he took the wicket of Dhoni.

Jadeja 19(10) and Ashwin 23 (13) aslo scored some runs in the end but they were not able to take CSK to a win.

Malinga took 3 wickets,Harbhajan,Vinay Kumar took 2-2 wickets while McClenaghan and Suchith took 1-1 wicket each.

Earlier in the match Mumbai got to a very good start as their openers got the partnership of 90 runs of just 10.4 overs but then Parthiv Patel got out on 35(25).

Lendl Simmons scored a good innings of 65(45).Kieron Pollard scored a brilliant quick innings of 41(17) that healped MI to a good total.Pollard was also given Man of the Match for his brilliant innings.

Dwayne Bravo bowled a good spell by picking by 3 wickets.Jadeja, Mohit and Nehra took 1 wicket each.

Now CSK has another chance to go into the finals by defeating the team who will win tomorrow's match either RCB or RR.
