Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Uzbekistan

Narendra Modi on Monday arrived in Tashkent, the capitalof Uzbekistan which is his first leg in this eight days visit in Central Asia and Russia and the aim for the visit is to enhance economic and energy ties and also attending the BRICS summit and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

When PM Narendra Modi arrived at Tashkent airport, he was given a warm welcome by Shavkat Miromanovich Mirziyoyev, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and the ministers of Cabinet.

"Hello Uzbekistan! I thank PM Shavkat Miromanovich Mirziyoyev for the warm welcome in Tashkent. Wonderful being here," Modi tweeted in both English and Uzbek languages after reaching in Tashkent.

Then both the Prime Ministers had a meeting at around 3:10 p.m

From Uzbekistan, PM Modi will go to Kazakhstan on Tuesday, then he will go to Russia on July  for BRICS summit. Then he will travel to Turkmenistan on July 10, Kyrgyzstan on July 11, Tajikistan on July 12.

The SCO summit will held in Ufa in Russia in which India may get the membership of the six-natons comprising Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan which could become the major highlight of his visit.

PM Narendra Modi also met Uzbek President Islam Karimov at the Kuksaroy presidential complex after which they both had a discussion.
