5.6 magnitude of earthquake hits Assam

Earthquake of magnitude 5.6 on the rechter scale hits in Assam on Sunday morning at about 6:40 a.m.

Tremors were also felt in some part of Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Esteran part of India.

The epicenter of the earthquake is reported to be 23 km away from Basugaon in Assam.

The earthquake rattled the doors and windows forcing the people to come out of their houses.

The earthquake was of moderate intensity so there is no reports of any loss of life and the damage of the property, the reports said.
