Taliban attack on Afgan Parliament in Kabul ended with seven gunmen killed

Taliban attack on Afgan Parliament in Kabul today ended with all the seven militants killed, the government said.

The attackers detonated a huge car bomb outside the building before entering into the parliament, the reports said.

The police said that six Taliban militants who attached the parliament have been killed, nearly two hours of operation after the lawmakers were forced to flee by a large explosion and the gunfire.

The police evacuated the premises , while trying trying to the gunman off.

At least 18 people are reported to have been wounded and at least 5 to 6 people have been killed in the attack.

Many pictures shows that the parliament is full of smoke from inside.

Local media reports another explosion in Dahmazang area near Kabul city.

"The attack has ended now. Seven attackers were involved - one detonated the car near the parliament building and the other six militants were killed by the security forces after they entered a nearby building," a deputy interior ministry spokesman told AFP.

An associated press reporter heard heavy gunfire outside the parliament and also black smoke
blowing from the enterance as ambulance raced to the scene.
